"cando fai 7 anos..."

Funny video + cover song 17

Back to all the FV + CS compilation

Muppets Korpiklaani (esta vai dedicada ó Pagan Pagan Warrior XD)

You might know Falco, he is a rock-pop-rap singer and songwriter who became famous in the 80's thanks to hits that were number one in the lists of lots of countries. We can remember him thanks to songs like "Rock Me Amadeus" (1985) or "Coming Home" (1986).
At the end of the 80's, he started having problems with drugs and family issues, and his career started to decline. He never sold as much as he did in the mid 80's.
His last released album in life was Nachtflug (1992), but he died when he had almost finished his upcoming album in 1998.
That album called "Out of the dark" was finally released when he already passed away in the same year due a car accident in Dominican Republic.
He had lots of songs in his work that talked about drugs or sex, and he had a lot of controversy thanks to that. Austria, his native country banned some of those songs like "Ganz Wien (... ist heut auf Heroin)" ("All Vienna consume heroin nowadays") or the hits “Der Komissar” y "Jeanny" (1985) which are related with a sexual crime.
One of the singles of his last album was the dance song "Mutter, Der Mann Mit Dem Koks Ist Da"

Falco - Mutter, Der Mann Mit Dem Koks Ist Da

Well, I wanted to tell this after watching the vid cause it was like I did for first time, and it's funny to see later the meaning behind the title and things we could see in the video...
That song means "Motherfucker, Oh Man, Am I Coked Up"
-'Koks' is the german word for charcoal, but also popular slang for cocaine.
Basically its the children singing to their mother 'mother the man delivering the charcoal is here' at a time of general poverty, with charcoal being the only way to heat the lousy rooms, and the original popular song then going on with the children wondering how mother would then pay the bill for the charcoal, cause they have no money, and then later in the way the mother reacts to the childrens questions insinuating the mother dealing out sex/favours to the delivery man to desperately somehow get him to still give her the coal to be able to support for the children.

His insinuation is also very heavily pushed in the video to the song, where the 'white powder' is never shown as cocaine (of course also due to legal reason, but also always tongue-in-cheek), but always with the charcoal & mother/deliveryman situation, even though everyone knows about the 'REAL' context that Falco sang about in the song, thats being cocaine.-
(thanks to smjuke)

Stahlhammer is a band that I discovered 10 years ago thanks to a friend that I had in that pc share program called Soulseek. He strongly adviced me that metal austrian band which combines elements from industrial to hardcore to symphonic...
The video of the song is a good tribute as well to the double meaning that Falco liked so much :D

The Fast and the Furious! Vaia peliculón!!! XD

Angelus Apatrida + Agonica - Live Vigo 2009-03-20

Bands: Angelus Apatrida (Sp) + Agonica (Sp)
Day: 20th March 2009
Place: La Iguana (Vigo)
Price: 8 € presale / 10 € doors

If you mix:

10 % of + 20% of

+ 30 % of + 40 % of result is =

Angelus Apatrida is a spanish band that comes from Albacete. I guess it's not necessary to say that they practise an old school thrash metal strongly influenced by the bands over there. Seems that they are much more known than I expected when seeing the hordes of people at the doors of the place. I was very shocked when such a mass of public was coming there and I bet if one of the big european bands would come, there would be half of them... even being much better than Angelus...
Well, I guess just looking at the pic we could even guess the style, cause they have the "official clothing" of a modern thrash metal band that since the beginning of 90's bands like Sepultura and Pantera established... So it seems if you want to found a thrash metal band nowadays you must wear those -army optional- trousers beneath the knees, and talk about society and politicians, and other issues related -seems that nuclear wars are not so popular nowadays as in the 80's XD-.

Well, let's start the concert:
In front of the doors, as I told before lots of fans. I expected many people thanks to friends of the first band, and also that old school thrash and heavy metal is enough popular in these lands. It's easier to see those "shirt-fans" of Metallica and Slayer, Exodus or Tankard than people who like bands that are more famous nowadays in the rest of Europe. The old-school and old-fashion in tastes are more palpable than other places. We have been too closed in our own market for many years so lots of fans dont know too much about new stuff and just follow the "classics", bands which were born 20 years ago or more + spanish bands.
Iguana is an odd place for concerts, it has a small scenary and you can see a concert from different perspectives, from up, down, even behind the band...

It's owned by Silvia Superstar, a famous singer from Vigo, which had some repercussion abroad with her band Killer Barbies. She is the owner of half Churruca, one of the places full of discos and bars for going out in Vigo.
Iguana is usually a place for "alternative" and "toothpaste modern guys", but sometimes they take some good rock-metal concerts.
-And yes, very alternative and so on... but they have too trendy prices as well, seems that snobbery is expensive... A place for not going out at night at all in Vigo...-

This time we have chosen a quieter place for watching the show up there:P

The supporter band was called Agonica, a galician band that I saw long time ago and this seemed to be their first concert in some time.
Their show was ok, they play a kind of modern thrash death, I think they should find a more personal way cause they have some good riffs, but there's something missing in the songs. I remained a bit cold after their show though they are good in what they do.
The matter that separates a bit them to make classical technical death metal is the way of singing, sometimes closer to all those hardcore metal or dethcore bands that are appearing everywhere. Anyway, not bad warming up.

Few moments later Angelus Apatrida came. I can say few more about their music that I havent told before. Their concert was quite enjoyable, very old school riffs recalling all those 80's and beginning of 90's thrash bands. Their singer was almost a reflection of a mix of Dave Mustaine and Chuck Billy, riffs were powerful and even catchy and solos were as good. I have no complains about the band itself, they are great musicians, maybe just the bad thing is that they sound too much to that old stuff. There were guitar notes that I have heard before in many other bands and of course in the big ones I ment. ... the feeling like "hey, I already know this... and could almost follow with my mind where they could go on..."...
They are a few original band, almost copying those other ones, but at least they copy decently and are good in what they play.
An ending with the cover song Domination, which was asked many times from the public, and done.
It was anyway a good show, pity of the several mistakes with lights and sometimes one of the guitars was out... besides a not very good sound in general, too loud, and after some concerts in portugal and that calm one of Kathaarsys I cannot remember the last time I came home with whistle in my ears, so after this one... now I recall the awful of most of the concerts in here...

Anyway, this concert was shocking, and not for the music this time. I really couldnt expect seeing so many public and so devoted. There were moshing in the first lines and from my perspective I could watch quite surprised how they were singing the songs!
I thought Angelus Apatrida, a young band with just 2 albums, was a second file band, but seems they are more known than I imagined.
At this point, I spent most of the concert thinking about where are all them when there are other concerts. I think in international ones like After Forever or Firewind... even Behemoth! we were almost the same number or less and of course not so fervent.
We observed even teenagers there! and our face of surprise was so huge as our confusion about "metal people" here.

Kathaarsys - Live Vigo 2009-03-14

Bands: Kathaarsys
Day: 14th March 2009
Place: Havana 20 (Vigo)
Price: 7 €

Always that I am attending a Kathaarsys show (and this is maybe the 5th time) it's a totally joyful time, and having them 15 min. far by walking from my flat, I wanted to see them again and see how the new songs of their new brand album work in the stage.
It was a bit expensive, one local band and just one for 7 € (115 EEK ;)) is enough, I think...
We arrived in the second song, which means we probably have lost around 20 min. of music hehe and we found an almost empty place. We could be around 15 people. Ok, ticket was not cheap, and there was another concert in the city, quite a different style... but...

I might need more time to get used to Anonymous Ballad, I didnt get too much into it at home. I could even say that I liked it less than Verses In Vain, the previous one. I recall that one like I had to spend my time to catch it, but maybe after seen those songs in live I liked it more and more.
Dont know what will happen with Anonymous.. but I felt it softer, not so black and more progressive, not that metal and more rock... I dont know.. I must have a better look at it, but no doubt that I prefer to attend to a Kathaarsys concert than listening the cd at home. They are powerful when it comes to live shows, songs are evolving and atmospheric, and they get to take you into their world after few seconds.
New songs sounded much better than in CD for me, I was listening them and thinking... is this really the new album that I listened few moments ago???
They work much better in live, but this time I didnt see them too happy, the girl bassist Marta seemed to be more quiet than other times as well... could be the few attendance for a city like Vigo with 300.000 people..... and lots of Metallica-Maiden-Megadeth "shirt-fans".... where were them? I dont know, but the next concert I will write about.... you'll see...

Krecho, an amazing drummer, it's a show just to see all the things he does in every song :O

Not too many people for that evening :(

So, the concert was ok, they played all the new album in live but one song, I think, and stuff from the 2 previous ones at the beginning. It was a bit sad to see so few public, but I guess their style of music is not so popular, and a bit complicated for "classic metal fans". Moreover there are some kind of fights between bands from here, stupid envies and quarrels that just make none of the bands from here could grow. They dont go to each other's shows even that the kind of music should be the one they like. Then we have few concerts and so on... and people complain... we have what we deserve.
Fortunately, Kathaarsys seems a more valued band abroad than here, and they are making extensive tours worldwide and with much better attendance results than in their region. Odd, but they deserve it, they are great musicians and always do good shows, tho, as I told, this was not the best one.

As many other times, afterparty in the best rock-metal pub in Galicia, Beer & Bones

Love at first sight XD

Coming soon... Angelus Apatrida

Trip to the south of Spain

Like most of you know, last week I was having a trip to the south of this country mainly because of a wedding, quite a long one (not the wedding but the trip XD), and even that through Portugal it was not so hard. Around 7-8 hours by car and done, a bit expensive to pay so many tolls, but faster than going through Spain sure.

Travelling through Portugal is a bit funny for us due my language and portuguese are closer but we have several "language tricks". For example:
- Everytime we had to pay in a toll we could see "recolha o título" - That means you have to pick your ticket up, but in galego, as in spanish, "título" could mean academic award or something like that XD, so everytime we wanted to go through tolls in Portugal it was more like a graduation from school than paying for the road XDD
- Or when we filled the car with gasoline, it was written: "prema a súa importáncia" or smthing like that ("set the price") which it is pretty close for us to "set the level of importance" XDD
There are more that I dont remember, but it's always funny when you find a new one :P

Well, going on with the trip, the first thing we did when we arrived to Sevilla was to rest a bit before the wedding, slept and the next morning meanwhile people were going to hairdresser and so on.. my brother and me decided to visit the roman city of Italica. Right now it is called Santiponce, but Italica was the oldest city founded in Spain by romans. It is situated 9 km. far from Sevilla, so it was a short trip by car :)
Here you can see some "retouched pics" that I recommend to see in all its splendour (downloading them or making zooms) because thanks to a pc program my brother made them to have cool effects meanwhile uniting several into one. I took away a bit of their quality for an easier uploading but anyway... they are really good!!
Roman theather of Italica:

Amphiteather and rest of Italica:

Amazing pic of the amphitheater, the place where romans did those coach races and fightings:

There is a funny thing when we reached to those ruins. There was a guided tour that started just when my brother and me arrived, and we went with all people, in spite of we didnt make any book (it was necessary). Then, we were told: "ok now children on this side, parents on this side" well, after some time of indecision we decided to go with parents XDD
Our guide, a beautiful and talkative girl, was explaining us about the romans and what they made and how they behave in that theater. It was a didactic class of history, and nice to remember all those things almost already forgotten from my childhood.
Later, those children came and did a representation over the scenary touching every way of art romans did over the stage: comedy, tragedy or mime.

Afterwards, the organization made a pic of all of us and I have just received it few days ago to my mail :)

After that educational morning with romans, we prepared for the wedding which took place in the evening in the cathedral of Sevilla.
Originally gothic style, the cathedral was made in the XV century and it is the biggest gothic cathedral worldwide.
Wedding/Cathedral
Check out these 3 pics ;)

Well, I know the moment you would like so see .. me very smart.. tie and so on XDD

That cathedral was nice to see, pity they let "modern" artists to decorate the surrounding area with doubtful good taste sculptures like the ones you can see. It was really full of those ugly "things" around the cathedral...

The inside:

It was nice to see that one of the sculptures inside the church was a "saint" with a sword on his hands and riding a horse... beneath him another figure of a muslim kneel down in front of the almost jumping horse. Down a legend saying something like that fair king liberated Sevilla from the "unfair" and "bad" muslims... Is it me or I still think they are too unfashioned about that stuff?
...I think it's not very right to show swords, threatening poses or roles of submission of other cultures-religions in spiritual places made for praying and all that stuff... what do you think?

Afterwards we went to a fancy hotel to dine and celebrate the event :P

I dont know if you know, but I dont like at all folk from the south. Yes, that folk every foreigner think we have in the whole Spain: flamenco, sevillanas and all that stuff. Well, seems that we couldnt skip that being in those lands, so they brought a band that it was ok for 2 or 3 songs but after that they became terribly boring :S

Yes! "The corpse bride" :) seems it was a request of the couple.

After that, more dancing and music, but this time quite different, pop-rock mostly.
Unfortunately the husband made a bad step and...

Strange: at 3 AM they came with soup for everyone who was hungry! :O

Well, after the party... we woke up early the next day, ate something with more guests and went on with the trip :P visiting more places in the city of Sevilla.
La Torre del Oro

Surrounding of Alcázar:

Plaza de España
Check the ones that seem stretched with attention opening them ;)

These 2 are great!

Situated inside the beautiful and huge park "Parque de María Luísa" it is a monument of "a hug of Spain to all its old colonies"

In the "Lawrence of Arabia" movie it appeared like the british army headquarters and in the Star Wars: Episode II it appeared in the Naboo planet, though digitally made up.

26º in Winter time at 20:00 PM... not normal even for a spanish one like me XD

In every one of those spaces between the columns we could see every one of the provinces of Spain, with a drawing that could be something historically relevant for that place.
As many were not prepared yet, we made a pic of a cool draw, and choosing.. choosing... the province of Burgos had a nice painting XD we would choose our province Lugo, but it wasnt prepared :(

After a very tired day of walking and eating, we went to bed and rest quite well. The next day we decided that staying there and going to near cities but sleeping in Sevilla was a good idea.
So the next visit was Ronda and Utrera, small but nice towns not far from Sevilla.
Utrera

Typical sight of retired workers in Spain: looking at bulding workers in the street XD

Please dress properly :)

Alguén máis veu unha rotonda cun caza de tamaño casi real no medio????

Ronda

On the way we "found" another castle in the distance and decided to stop in the Aguzaderas Castle which seemed to be constructed to protect from the muslims an important source of water.

That day was absolutly tiring after so many things, but there was almost nothing compared to the next day:
La Alhambra
2'5 hours far by car from Sevilla there is the city of Granada, owner of one of the most beautiful places in all the spanish geography: La Alhambra.
This place is an ancient muslim fortress, a huge fortress with lots of beautiful gardens and buildings from the medieval age. I guess you can find easily story and so on in internet, so I will avoid to go into this in depth. I think just seeing is ok, and I have lots of pics, but I tried to choose some few.

Trying to restablish the order of things.. XDD

Yeh my mom is not very good when centering the view of a pic XDD

Now check out the HDR my brother did:

That was really a tiring afternoon-evening! all time walking and we even lost like 30% of the place!! It was true that we didnt know there was an hour specified in the ticket for a special place inside, but we didnt know. Anyway, we were walking all the time and I think we could see that almost in a rush!
We came back to Sevilla again and left on the next day, saw a bit more in the morning and went through Portugal back again. You have to pay a bit more, but it is worth if you want the trip to be shorter.
Stopping again in some small towns that I actually dont remember very well the names.. XDD
Thanks that sometimes we make pics of the signs that explain what we are visiting :)
Alcácer do Sal

And again I had to visit Fátima my brother and mother didnt visit and wanted to do. I prefered other places on the way, there are many castles and so on... but..

After 6 days we came back home and I still feel I should sleep more hours since I came hihi
It was a good trip :)
Oh I forgot!
It was surprising that in Sevilla I met one estonian friend!!!
I met her in orkut, and when I was crossing a zebra at 5:00 AM I heard my name... and I was ... "huh? who is calling for me in Sevilla?" XD
And I recognized her from that strange community called orkut. I mean strange because seems there are just Indian, Estonian and Brazilian people there hehe
So I couldnt talk too much with Elisa, but I was quite shocked of knowing in real life one estonian friend from the web one night in Sevilla!!
About people there... I can just say that northern people we are so different from them!!
I was hearing people in the night clapping hands and singing... but in the morning.. afternoon.. evening.. ouffh they are tiring!!
When we were crossing that bridge in one of the pics of Sevilla, there were 2 boys that came to me .. and when they saw I was smart dressed and with long hair they said: "hey!! yeh!!! Camarón!!! yeh yeh!!" and starting clapping hands trying that I sang some flamenco like "aiiiiiii aiai ai ai aiiiiiiiiii" XDDD

It was a quite embarrasing moment hihi, but as I already had drunk a bit in all the wedding.. I was in the mood of telling them some yelling so they could go in peace XDD
But those are things that somehow I dont like too much, not their culture of always party and party or flamenco or yelling or bullfightings or their way of talking that I had to ask many times to repeat because I couldnt understand anything XDD
Hope you like it, and now I need a rest oufff such long posts make me to be dizzy XD
