As you could see I was placing here all the "surprises 2008" I discovered in this year. I decided they were just the debut albums of every one, though at the beginning I was just thinking about albums that surprised me.

Not too much to add but I think Axel Rose and Hetfield and company are teasing fans.
Metallica's fans are happy with every thing they release and they take advantage of it, even with such an uninspired album like Death Magnetic. Just with the matter of being a bit more thrash they won most of the followers, though lacking good guitar riffs or even good solos. Death Magnetic is a poor album of pseudo-rock-modernthrash that fans from the old good age shouldnt like at all. But I was realizing that Metallica sells just because of the name, Metallica is more a brand than a band. Just that could explain St. Anger got good results in sellings, and even there are people who actually liked that crap (I'm trying to be objective, but I'm sure when Metallica members get old they will apologize about people who bought that, or at least will think that).
Most of the other disappointments are about releases that I liked the previous one or I expected more, like the one of Evergrey or Mercenary or Innactive Messiah, but there are also some that are running desperately down from a high hill and it's impossible to turn them back, cases of Iced Earth, Judas Priest or Silentium.

Surprises 2008: In Mourning - Shrouded Divine
In the last one of my "surprises 2008" I will talk about one of the best discoverings of 2008. The great album of In Mourning, a swedish band that started making a slowlier music in those early demos than in the debut album. That gothic metal became a gothic-doom-melodeath in Shrouded Divine, a majestic album that inmediately set In Mourning as one of the best bands in 2008. With a palpable progressive touch and very origininal environment, clean and mostly harsh vocals and delicate and atmospheric melodies sometimes and melodeath catchy riffs other times, Shrouded Divine is probably my personal best discovering in 2008, and shouldnt pass over any open minded metal fan (even no-metal fan), due to the wide of their offer, the lots of genres they are touching and becoming solid under the same.

Ill & preparing trip
Last days I'm becoming more ill, and today I really had to stay in bed and probably tomorrow as well. Nothing serious but some virus (more people were telling me they are or were ill last weekend) or got cold. I'm just feeling dizzy and coughing from time to time.
Last weekend was an unproductive one. I went to my hometown and did nothing but watching movies, and I'm recently working more in my movies' blog in spanish than in here. I feel tired to talk with people and just want to stay in bed so you will know few about me in the next 2 weeks, I will go on with blog stuff of course but forget about social webs or msn chats.
I'm also attending to a wedding next saturday in Sevilla, the very south. It will be 1 week trip so I'm returning on wednesday evening, I suppose. Don't worry about pics with smart dressing, I will place some here :P I know, unbeliavable sight hehe... so tomorrow I will have a shaving, my beard is quite a viking chaotic one, and I'm not allowed to go like that XD
There are 2 more posts that I will place here before my leaving, tomorrow and thursday at 00:00 so enjoy them, and see u later ;)

Entroido 2009
Entroido or Carnaval or Carnival... I dont like too much to disguise in this party (it's more interesting when YOU are the ONLY one dressing hihii hhhhh ;) ). Here in Galicia this is a famous party, though in big cities people are not that party people as in the most famous little towns in Ourense, where all the population of those villages like Xinzo de Limia, Verín or Laza, are attending and enjoying in a traditional way this pagan celebration.
Well, coming back to Vigo, I will just post some pics of this party here, most of them with the rest of the erasmus. I didnt actually dressed, so I asked to my dear Karolina if she could make what I was thinking.. and she totally read my mind :D

Surprises 2008: Martriden - The Unsettling Dark
Martriden is a black/melodic death band from USA. They released their first album on 2008 after the well criticized EP in 2006. They have very melodic parts but also very brutal with powerful drums and blast-beats, production is great and voice is mostly black metal oriented. Riffs goes mostly from melodeath rythms to fast black metal tremolos, though they are not so varied or original sometimes. Some acoustic guitars and effective background keyboards that appear in some moments make this album to have a nice different touch.
Anyway, The Unsettling Dark is a good debut album, another band to look forward future releases.
